Do all the costs quoted include VAT ?


How many guests can Jabajak accommodate?

For the formal sit down meal in our main restaurant up to 60 guests but 90 if also using the gallery restaurant that overlooks the main restaurant through the nook.

This leaves the bistro and wine shop for additional items i.e cake, wedding book, coffee lounge area etc.

Plus the bar lounge to mingle.

For more informal buffets for evening functions, we can accommodate up to 180 guests throughout the complex. If you wish to hire a marquee, we can cater for up to 200 formally seated, and around 300 informally.

Can we get married on the premises?

Yes, we have a comprehensive civil licence. Most of our couples choose to marry in the main restaurant. This charming room has a high ‘church’ ceiling with beams and lends itself well to the ceremony. We can arrange the hire of musicians, such as a harpist, to enhance the experience for you.

Provided the weather is agreeable, you can also get married outside in the vineyard/lawns, or on the veranda.

For small parties, you also have the option of getting married in the upstairs or downstairs bistros – or even in the nook, if you want a ‘Juliette Balcony’ arrangement.

Can we choose whatever we want to eat for our wedding breakfast?

Yes you can, as long as the raw materials are available and can be cooked for a large party. You set your own budget guidelines and we will sit down with you, listen to your requirements and advise you on what can be achieved. You also have a large choice of wines from Jabajak’s cellars – or you can provide your own for a standard corkage charge. If you wish to prioritise food over wine (or vice versa) within your budget we will work through the many options available to you, to ensure you get best value.

Can we use outside caterers?

Yes – for the evening party, Although we do insist on catering for the mail meal during the day.

Can we have a band or DJ?

Yes, Jabajak holds a full entertainment licence. We’ll be happy to recommend artists

Why do you charge a venue fee?

We try and keep costs transparent – with limited extras ( preferably none )

This is charged to cover the cost of lost a-la-carte trade in the restaurant and rooms and cover additional cleaning and organisational fees.

This also eliminates any inflated prices to cover additional labour costs synonomous with weddings.

We cover this in the venue fee, leaving the meal costs at standard restaurant prices.

Also included in the venue fee are:

  • The guidance and expertise of our wedding co-ordinator, who will be delighted to assist you in planning all the hospitality aspects of your special day. As often as you need.
  • Additional advice and/or help in organising and co-ordinating entertainment and other contractors used.
  • The bridal suite free of charge for the wedding night.
  • Assuming you like them…. Crockery, cutlery, tablecloths, napkins, glassware and additional decorative items such as candle holders, vases etc.
  • Electricity costs for contractors, hired by yourself.

Will we have exclusive use of the vineyard and restaurant?

Yes – absolutely. That is our policy for couples paying the full venue fee. It means that you can have the wedding you want, as you want it, surrounded only by your friends and family (and our friendly staff). Please note that the restaurant will be open on the evening prior to your wedding for the convenience of any of you guests who wish to stay with us before the wedding, and for external patrons.

Will we have exclusive use of the guest house rooms?

Yes you will. For most weddings, we ask that all the rooms be booked by wedding guests on the evening of the ceremony, to avoid a clash of interests with other residents. However, if any rooms remain vacant, we require only the ‘room rate’ (not the person supplement – please see website for the tariff breakdown). The bridal suite is free of charge for the wedding night when a venue fee is paid. We also offer a breakfast service to all wedding guests who are staying in the area, so that you can get together for another last meal with your wedding party before you return to your homes. There is a charge for additional breakfasts, but residents breakfasts are included in their room fee.

What about our other guests? Where can they stay?

We can provide comprehensive details of accommodation nearby, ranging from larger hotels to nearby private guesthouses and holiday cottages.

Will our guests be able to walk around the vineyard?

Yes, guests can walk anywhere apart from the enclosed private back garden. We recommend they take a camera with them if they are interested in wildlife. There is also a woodland walk across the road from the restaurant for the more adventurous.

What are your licensing rules?

Jabajak has a full alcohol licence and entertainment licence. Please note that where a civil ceremony is provided, we are not permitted to serve alcohol or allow its consumption before the conclusion of the marriage ceremony.

Do you have private free parking?

We have ample parking for weddings.

What about public transport and taxis?

The main line from London, Cardiff, Swansea (etc) stops at Whitland, which is approximately 3 miles from Jabajak. There are taxis firms available locally, and we can provide details on request.
